Brutalized by Alexander Volkov in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 18, held on Saturday (6), in the United States, alistair overeem manifested itself for the first time after the knockout suffered in the second round. Using social media, the veteran thanked the fans for their support, analyzed the decisive moment for the setback and assured that he will not retire at this time. The 'giant' is close to turning 41 years old.

Considered one of those responsible for spreading MMA around the world, Alistair ended up having frustrated his plan to compete once again for the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg). Before facing Volkov, the Dutchman was in fifth place in the group and a big win would mean a big step towards a fight for the title.
In the week of the clash, Alistair admitted that the end of his career was near. Speaking to the press, the veteran stated that he does not intend to prolong his career for long.
Last weekend, Overeem reached the mark of 67 commitments as a professional in MMA. In the sport since 1999, the veteran has 47 triumphs, 19 setbacks and one 'no result' match.
