Without acting since January 2019, the former bantamweight champion was suspended for two years after being caught in an anti-doping test. The incident happened during his preparation for the clash against Henry Cejudo, when he tried to win the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg.), at the time, in possession of the 'Triple C'.
After the punishment, Dillashaw still doesn't know who his opponent will be for his return. Recently, the Ultimate president, Dana White, admitted the possibility of the North American returning to action in the immediate dispute for the belt in the under-61,2kg category., which today belongs to Petr yan.
The Russian, who has held the title since July 2020, confirmed his desire to test himself against the former leader of the group, but, first, he must go through aljamain sterling, UFC 259.
In addition to the possibility of fighting for the belt, TJ, in December, was challenged by José Aldo. At the time, Manauara had just defeated Marlon Vera and, in the interview after the triumph, he called for a confrontation against the North American. The former champion, however, wasn't very excited about the Brazilian's proposal.
