Legend of MMA and one of the most important names for the dissemination of the sport in Brazil, Vitor belfort is even willing to get back into action. However, there's just one problem: the veteran can't decide on his opponent. After confirming Alain Ngalani as a rival for his debut – which has not yet been completed – at ONE FC, the ‘Phenomenon’ also targeted former foes Wanderlei and Anderson Silva e Chael Sonnen. Now, the carioca has appeared with a new name: Yoel romero.

“I would definitely (fight Romero). That guy is a 'monster' and my age. So it would be amazing. It would be a great fight too”, said Belfort, in an interview with ‘LowKickMMA’.

Former UFC champion, Vitor has not performed professionally since May 2018. On that occasion, the athlete exchanged forces against his compatriot Lyoto Machida and ended up getting the worst of it, suffering a hard knockout in the second round. After the clash, the ‘Phenomenon’ announced his retirement.

The career break, however, was short-lived. A few months later, the Brazilian confirmed his deal with ONE FC. In addition to fighting for the company, the veteran would work as a kind of ambassador for the Asian organization in Brazil.

In recent months, Belfort confirmed Alain Ngalani as his opponent, but at the same time, he tried to promote a rematch with Wanderlei Silva. When Anderson Silva was released by the UFC in early November, the legend’s name also began to be mentioned by ‘Fenômeno’.

Romero was fired by the UFC last week. The athlete had three negative results in a row and could not resist the recent retrospect.
