The great performance of Glover Teixeira in the confrontation against Thiago Marreta, carried out in UFC Las Vegas 13, this Saturday (7), in the United States, may have changed Dana White's plans for the future of the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg.). The 'big boss', who made public the idea of promoting a superfight between the champions Jan Blachowicz e Israel adesanya, admitted that he was impressed with the Minas Gerais performance and could make a concession to the Minas Gerais native.

“I heard your interview (of Glover, after the victory, when he referred directly to the president when asking for a title fight). He's not wrong. He's been here a long time. He was incredible today. Every time I doubt him, he proves me wrong”, said the 'boss', in an interview with 'ESPN'.
Dana was then asked about taking a stance regarding the future of the category. Even with the dream of a superfight between Israel and Blachowicz, Teixeira is not out of the cards.
“I need to decide. I listened to what he (Glover) said, I agree and I'm taking him seriously”, he concluded.
In the duel against Marreta, Teixeira proved once again that, even at 41 years old, he is able to face younger rivals from the division's elite on equal terms. Against his compatriot, the Minas Gerais native struggled in the first and third rounds, but managed to control the situation, winning by submission in round three.
In addition to overthrowing the current leader of the ranking, Teixeira also confirmed his good phase. The Brazilian reached his fifth consecutive victory and has not lost since July 2018.
