From time to time, MMA presents some clashes elevated to the status of superfight and the most recent one to reach that rank is the clash between Jon Jones e Israel adesanya. The pair are on a collision course and cannot hide their rivalry, whether in interviews or on social media, and the trash talk is heavy. The statements caught the attention of fans and also Daniel Cormier, current commentator for ESPN American.

At the pre-UFC Ilha da Luta 6 press conference, 'DC', who knows Jones like no one else, assured that he wants to face the middleweight champion (83,9kg), and not only showed delight when talking about the relationship between them, as well as comparing it to the one he had with the former number one light heavyweight (93kg).

“Jones wants to fight Adesanya. Many criticize him, but Jones is a real fighter! He will fight with you and against everyone. He wants to, but Adesanya doesn't. Adesanya is messing with him because he's far away. I'm not saying he's scared, but he himself has said he needs time. I find the way the two interact fascinating. It's wild and these rivalries tend to get nasty. My rivalry with Jones wasn't pretty, but the fans liked it, as did this one. I hope they fight at some point,” Cormier said.

Honestly, Cormier can see Jones as the favorite, even with Adesanya's great phase, but he highlighted that, the more time passes, the better for the Nigerian, who evolves with each fight.

“It’s a very interesting fight and Adesanya is improving with each performance. If I were Jones, I would fight him now and not in the future. Adesanya has only been in MMA for a short time and already looks like an unbeatable champion. Adesanya shouldn't face Jones because he's insane! Adesanya is making Jones even crazier and may not fight him. Can you imagine that? I don’t think Adesanya is ready today, but it would be fantastic,” he opined.

'DC', like the fans, does not know in which category the duel could take place, but believes that this is the least of the problems.

“What weight will they fight at? Jones is moving up to heavyweight, but will he return? Fighting at light heavyweight is difficult. It was terrible for me and it's hard for Jones too. He's big. If Adesanya steps up and defeats Blachowicz, she can make Jones return. I really don't care about the weight. Adesanya is big too,” he concluded.

the fight between Jon Jones e Israel adesanya It is also well regarded by Dana White, who has already expressed interest in making it. For the Nigerian, this is the biggest fight in UFC history and many believe he is the ideal opponent for the North American to fight in the same way he shocked the world during his light heavyweight reign.
