“He (Petr) is a great fighter. He's the best bantamweight in the world today. (…) Every performance he’s had in recent years, he’s been incredible. I have a lot of respect for him, but he's a beatable guy. The division is balanced at the moment. Anyone in the top 5 can become champion”, said the Friburgo native, in an interview with the media day for the UFC Fight Island 5, with the participation of SUPER FIGHTS.

To get even closer to Yan, Marlon, who is currently number one in the rankings, behind only the champion, will have to beat Cory Sandhagen in the main fight of the weekend. The Brazilian has not stepped into the octagon since December last year, when he overcame José Aldo by points, in Manauara's debut in the category.

Now, Moraes must prove that he deserves to be a challenger again. The athlete fought for the belt last year, but ended up defeated by Henry Cejudo by knockout.

This Saturday, Marlon, 32 years old, will reach the mark of 31 appearances as a professional in MMA. Currently, the athlete has 23 wins, six losses and one draw.
