The choice of Chael Sonnen to be the next challenger for the belt Jon Jones caused a lot of displeasure among the other fighters in the category. After Dan Henderson, who didn't like the controversial North American's choice as challenger, this time it was Lyoto Machida, who is aiming for a title fight, criticizes the Ultimate option.
“With all due respect, for me Sonnen doesn’t deserve the title fight! I wanted to know what he did at light heavyweight to deserve it”, Lyoto wrote on his Twitter account. Soon afterwards, Machida was supported by his compatriot Vitor belfort, also through microblogging. “I completely agree”, wrote the “Phenomenon”, who was Jones’ last opponent in the UFC.
Jon Jones e Chael Sonnen were chosen to be the coaches of the 17th edition of TUF, the UFC reality show, in the United States. The season begins airing in 2013 and the fight between the two takes place shortly afterwards, on April 27th.
