In the final stretch of his career, Diego Sanchez would like to fight Conor McGregor and MMA legends

Veteran intends to honor his contract with the UFC and fight the last four fights against the Irish star and the Diaz brothers

Four fights, that's the number that separates Diego Sanchez of retirement. The countdown starts at UFC 253, event held on Saturday (26), in Abu Dhabi, when the veteran will face the promise Jake matthews, but he is thinking about the final stretch.

At the pre-show press conference, ‘The Nightmare’, one of the most beloved athletes by MMA fans, expressed his desire to face legends of the sport. The 38-year-old American listed the Diaz brothers as ideal opponents and Conor McGregor being the fight of your dreams.

“My goal in these last four fights in the UFC is to finish strong and healthy. I'm not belittling Matthews, but I want to face legends. Nick Diaz is coming back and there are other names that interest me. Face Nate diaz it would also appeal to fans. McGregor would be fight number four. I imagine myself dominating these three fights and ending my career with a fight against McGregor. This is my dream, my vision. While I build my legacy and McGregor does what he does, I will be waiting at the end of my road if he wants to be my last opponent”

Diego Sanchez He began his MMA career in 2002, debuted in the UFC in 2005 and has been with the organization ever since. The veteran was part of the historic first edition of TUF and the fight against Jake matthews it will be number 43, with 31 of them taking place in the UFC. Despite never having been champion, Sanchez was one of the few fighters to compete in four different weights (featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight) and, in the future, should be included in the organization's Hall of Fame. In his last appearance he won Michael Pereira in a controversial way.
