After Dustin poirier make it public that you will not fight against Tony Ferguson No. UFC 254, which takes place on October 24, in Abu Dhabi, the soap opera of the confrontation gained another chapter. The president of Ultimate, Dana White, stated that the dispute will not happen because the 'Diamante' rejected the confrontation against the 'Bicho Papão'.

“Look, I like Dustin. I'm not going to sit here and say negative things about him. He's a great kid. I don't know if he didn't want to fight in Abu Dhabi or what his deal was. He didn't want to fight. They have many different ways of rejecting a fight. (…) Negotiating to get out of the duel is one of the ways. So whatever the reason, he didn't want to accept it. Only he knows why”, said the 'boss', in an interview after the last episode of 'Dana White's Contender Series'.
Upon learning of White's direct statement about his absence from the UFC 254, Poirier, in response to a post made by 'MMA Junkie' on Twitter, denied the agent's statement.
“I want the fight,” Dustin wrote.
Even though the veracity of the versions cannot be proven, White guaranteed that he already has a new name for Ferguson in the next 'Bicho Papão' challenge. The 'big boss' did not reveal who he will be the opponent, but assured that it will be interesting for the lightweight.
“We have a fight (for Ferguson). He hasn't accepted it yet, but he will. I don’t see Tony rejecting a fight,” he concluded.
Recently, 'ESPN' reporter, Ariel Helwani, stated that the UFC is negotiating with Michael chandler, who did not have his contract renewed with Bellator. The competitor's former champion could be the ideal opponent for Tony.
