The fact that Jon Jones officially left the 93kg division. to play among the heavyweights (up to 120,2kg.) of the UFC, there is no doubt. The MMA legend, however, can be encouraged by Dana White's recent statement, who stated that he will give himself a chance at the top category belt in his first appearance in the group, with no confirmed date. In an interview after the last episode of 'Contender Series', the president confirmed the information, relying on 'Bones' history within mixed martial arts.

Dana's idea, however, does not contradict her claim that Francis Ngannou, undefeated in four fights and currently number one in the heavyweight rankings, will be the next challenger for the belt. 'Bones' chance will only come when the American is truly ready for his new challenge. The athlete, at the moment, focuses on gaining muscle mass so that he can face the giants of the organization.
“The last time we spoke to Jon Jones, he said he would take some time off to do his thing. When he has the right fight, he will call us”, concluded White.
Jones has not performed since his last title defense, in February of this year, when he defeated Dominick reyes controversially, in the UFC UFC 247. after the UFC 252, which confirmed Miocic as heavyweight champion, 'Bones' made it official that he would abandon his belt in the 93kg division, and follow his dream of winning the title in the upper category.
