Stipe Miocic does not set a date, but admits that he considers retirement after each fight

UFC heavyweight champion, North American reveals that he always considers the possibility of hanging up his gloves, however, he says he is happy at the moment

Responsible for leading the UFC 252 with Daniel Cormier, in Las Vegas (USA), Stipe Miocic has something in common with his rival, besides the third title fight between them. In a press conference held on Thursday night (13), the current heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg.) admitted that retirement from MMA is not something distant and that he thinks about the subject frequently.

“I think about retiring after every fight. Ever since my performance at UFC 136 (in 2011), I’ve been thinking about this,” said the American in a conversation with the press.

Aged 37 and an MMA professional since February 2010, the champion admitted that the decision to hang up his gloves will come from his psychological condition, evaluating the way he deals with the training routine required for a high-performance fighter.

"I love what I do. The moment I don't have fun anymore and it feels like work, I'm out. Now I'm fine, happy. I had a lot of preparation. I feel amazing,” she finished.

With his belt on the line for the first time since he regained it, in the rematch against Cormier, in August last year, Stipe will have the opportunity to record a defeat in what should be his rival's last appearance. Throughout the year, Daniel has made it clear that the trilogy against Miocic will mark his farewell to mixed martial arts, regardless of the result.
