One of the most feared athletes in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg.), Tony Ferguson is willing to return to the octagon after the tough defeat to Justin gaethje in May, at UFC 244. “They are both great fighters. We are in the elite and top 5 for a reason. If Conor wants to fight, I'm willing. I would love to face a southpaw. I think I would do well,” said Ferguson in an interview with 'ESPN'.

In addition to the Irishman, 'Bicho Papão' opened the door for a fight against the former interim champion of the category, Dustin poirier, which comes from a great performance against Dan Hooker, held in June.

"It doesn't matter. Opponents change. There's COVID-19 or anything else that comes along. You want to give me Conor, give it to me. You want to give me Poirier, let's make it happen. When we fight, the winner will face whoever triumphs between (Justin) Gaethje and Khabib (Nurmagomedov),” he said.

Currently, Tony is in third place in the lightweight rankings, behind only Justin – who faces Khabib in October to unify the category title – and Dustin poirier. Former division champion, Conor is close behind, in fourth. All three have already performed in 2020. McGregor, however, played at welterweight (up to 77kg) in January.
