New show. In the third meeting between Rogério Minotouro e Mauritius Shogun, the Curitiba native came out on top again. In a clash held this Saturday (25), by UFC Fight Island 3, in Abu Dhabi, the Brazilians once again put on a show and put on a balanced show in the co-main clash of the night.

The result of the confrontation marked the second consecutive defeat for Minotouro, who had last played in May 2019. Shogun, in turn, won again after more than a year. His last positive result was in December 2018, when he hit Tyson Peter by knockout.
The fight
The athletes began the confrontation studying each other in the center of the Octagon. Shogun took the initiative with two low kicks. After two minutes, Maurício attacked Minotouro and started putting pressure on his rival against the bars. Rogério managed to move away and threw a series of punches that stopped in the Curitiba native's guard. Shogun connected with a right to the head of the Bahian and rocked his opponent. The fighters started to engage in frank exchanges and the light heavyweights looked for a knockout. In the final seconds, Maurício managed a takedown, but there was no more time.
In the second stage, Maurício struck again with a kick to the waist. The Curitiba native went back to fighting, but Rogério managed to free himself. Minotouro once again showed an advantage in striking and connected a good sequence of punches on his opponent. Maurício responded in kind, but ended up losing his balance and falling to the ground. From above, Minotouro struck his rival, who tried to contain the Bahian's momentum. Maurício managed to get up and the match was once again fought on its feet. A left cross from Shogun rocked Minotouro again, but the welterweight absorbed the attack well. Maurício landed a cross again and the Bahian remained at a disadvantage. The Bahian showed a lot of courage and tried to recover by attacking his opponent with a combination of punches, but the timer ran to zero.
The last round began following the script of the previous ones, with Shogun betting on low kicks to destabilize his opponent. Maurício again connected a good cross to the Bahian's face, who shook, but continued walking forward. Minotouro applied a sequence of two straight shots and remained alive in the clash. Shogun surprised the Bahian with a kick to the waist, but the fight continued with the possibility of a knockout for both sides. Rogério threw a strong left punch, which forced the Curitiba native to walk backwards. In the final minute, Shogun attacked with a cross and managed to take the fight to the ground. Maurício, then, tried to manage the confrontation by striking from top to bottom, while Rogério tried to escape from the bad position. The fight came to an end with the Curitiba native dominating on top.
