Sonnen praises Belfort and announces support for Brazilian against Jon Jones

Vitor belfort face the beast Jon Jones in the main fight of UFC 152, in a duel valid for the organization's light heavyweight belt, and the Brazilian gained an extra crowd for the confrontation.

the controversial Chael Sonnen, who offered to face Jones at UFC 151, but was rejected by the champion, which led to the cancellation of the event, was full of praise for the Brazilian athlete and stated that he will support Belfort in the confrontation.

“Vitor is a great fighter. It’s a great chance and I hope he seizes the moment,” said Sonnen, in an interview with MMAJunkie, denying that he would have been disappointed with the Brazilian’s choice as challenger. “I wouldn’t use that word. If there was one word to describe what happened in those 48 hours, it would be surprise. Maybe a step beyond disbelief,” he added.

Jones has become the target of Sonnen's taunts since the loudmouth American moved up to the light heavyweight division.
