Ultimate makes trilogy official between Stipe Miocic x Daniel Cormier at UFC 252, in August

Now it's official. After months of waiting and negotiations, Ultimate made the trilogy between Stipe Miocic x Daniel Cormier for the franchise's heavyweight belt. The duel will be the main attraction of the UFC 252, an event scheduled to take place on August 15th, with no defined location yet. The announcement was made by Dana White, president of the show, North American ESPN.

The third meeting between the heavyweights was widely speculated in recent months, however, Miocic, who is also a firefighter in Cleveland (USA), revealed that I wouldn't train during the coronavirus pandemic. However, with the cases under control in the USA, the champion agreed to face his rival for the third time.

Stipe Miocic, who has a professional record of 19 wins and three losses, will make his first title defense since retaking the heavyweight throne in August 2019. On that occasion, when he beat Daniel Cormier, by technical knockout, at UFC 241.

In turn, Cormier will face Miocic in his last fight as a professional. At 41 years old, he has a record of 22 wins and two losses. IN their first clash, in July 2018, at UFC 226, he knocked out Miocic in the first round.
