In the debut of 'Ilha da Luta', UFC 251 will feature José Aldo and Gilbert Durinho in title fights

The fight program UFC 251, scheduled for July 11th, at the premiere of 'Fight Island', in Abu Dhabi, gained the proportions of the biggest card of 2020. The show will feature three title fights, with two Brazilians in the hunt for the titles. In the main fight, Gilbert Durinho challenges the Nigerian Kamaru Usman for the welterweight belt (up to 77.1 kg.). Already José Aldo duels against Petr Ian for the vacant bantamweight reign (up to 61.2 kg.). In the third dispute of the night, Alexander Volkanovsky thirst for revenge for Max Holloway in the duel for the featherweight champion position (up to 65.7 kg.).

UFC 251 and 'Fight Island'

O UFC 251 will open Ultimate's programming on 'Ilha da Luta', a complex developed with the government of Abu Dhabi in partnership with Ultimate. In addition to UFC 251, the organization will promote three more events in the 'Fight Night' series on the 15th, 18th and 25th of July.

'Fight Island' will be located in a 25 km2 security zone, within Yas Island. The venue includes an arena, hotel, training facilities and restaurants. This safety zone will only be open to UFC athletes and their coaches, UFC staff and event staff.
