President of 'Bare Knuckle' suggests fight between Mike Tyson and Wanderlei Silva

David Feldman, president of the 'bare-knuckle boxing' event, says he intends to invest heavily in having the legend of the 'noble art' at his event and considers Brazil as a rival

The news that the boxing legend, Mike Tyson, is willing to fight again has shaken the spirits of many fight promoters around the world. Eager to have the former world champion on 'Bare Knuckle FC', the organization's president, David Feldman, suggested the name of Wanderlei Silva as a possible opponent of the North American.

“I think a Wanderlei Silva, someone of this nature. It doesn't matter that Wanderlei is old. He's dangerous, and I think it would be an intriguing fight. Something like that, but I don't really have anything in mind right now,” Feldman said in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

Upon learning that his name was being raised to be responsible for 'welcoming' the North American legend to the world of fights, Wand used his social networks to speak positively about an agreement.

"It would be an honor. I would accept it instantly, without thinking,” Silva wrote on his Instagram account.

Although he initially offered Tyson US$20 million (almost R$110 million), David stated that he was unable to convince the boxer to work for his company. The president, however, still hasn't given up hope of seeing Mike working in his battle arena.

“First, I want to see if we can make this Mike story happen, and then we'll start talking about opponents. We haven't been successful in making this Mike story happen yet, but I don't think the door is closed yet. He said no right away, but I think there is a chance.”

Since Tyson publicly announced that he will return to action in a charity fight, many names for possible opponents have emerged. Proposals for clashes against the MMA legend were analyzed, Tito Ortiz, former boxing champion Shannon Briggs and, finally, the possibility that most excited fans: a trilogy against Evander Holyfield, against whom Tyson had a historic rivalry in the 90s.

Without any certainty, Mike, 53, recently stated that the announcement of his next challenge will be released this week. Meanwhile, the athlete continues training and impressing with his vitality on social media.
