Belfort suggests rematch against Anderson Silva in 'crossover' between ONE and UFC

MMA legend, Brazilian asks event promoters to leave pride aside and hold fights that fans want to watch, regardless of the organization

One of the greatest legends in the history of MMA, Vitor belfort He is even willing to resume his MMA career. After announcing his return against the 'giant' Alain Ngalani, after more than two years without fighting, the athlete mentioned some rematches he would like to do before hanging up his gloves definitively. The Rio native also stated that he would like to be able to face Anderson Silva in a 'crossover' event between ONE FC and UFC.

“I will add Anderson Silva (to the list of rematches), if that is possible”, said the 'Phenomenon' in an interview with 'MMA Junkie”.

In addition to 'Spider', by whom he was defeated in the iconic fight held in 2011, the Brazilian also confirmed his desire to share the combat arena against names like Rich Franklin, Tito Ortiz e Wanderlei Silva, whom he recently challenged.

The desire to face Anderson, however, is understood by Vitor as a gift to the fans. The fighter stated that he would like to do an event in which Ultimate teams up with ONE – the company that currently includes the Rio de Janeiro fighter – and could bring back the old rivalry.

Without fighting since his defeat to Lyoto Macida, in May 2018, when he was still wearing UFC gloves, Vitor stated that he intended to return to action in the first half of 2020. With the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, plans had to be postponed. The athlete, however, remains focused and prepared for his return at the age of 43.
