A large portion of MMA fans are eager for the confirmation of the confrontation between Israel adesanya e Paulo borrachinha for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg.). Just like the spectators, one of the Brazilian's coaches, Eric Albarracin, also showed excitement when talking about the clash. In an interview with 'BJ.Penn.com', the American justified the fact that he considers the fight historic.

“Paulo Costa (Borrachinha) against Adesanya will be the biggest middleweight fight in history. The two hate each other. When we went to UFC 243 (in October last year, in Australia), Adesanya called him (Paulo) Ricky Martin (famous Puerto Rican artist), and he really looked like Ricky Martin, but he hits like Mike Tyson. Adesanya will not leave the octagon. Costa will erase it”, said Eric.

The athletes made their disaffection public and have been promoting the confrontation for more than a year. After the Nigerian unified the middleweight belt by beating Robert whittaker, in October, Dana White and his team confirmed that the Minas Gerais native would be the next challenger. A biceps injury, however, postponed the Brazilian's plans, and he ended up being replaced by Yoel romero in Israel's first belt defense in March.

Now, the fighters are waiting for the contracts to be signed so that they can make the long-awaited confrontation in 2020. The difficulties for Borrachinha to travel internationally, due to the coronavirus pandemic, may mean that the confrontation will only take place at the end of the year, while the global health crisis remains out of control.
