The UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg.), Jon Jones appears to have temporarily given up on defending his division's belt. The athlete continues trying to stage a superfight against the heavyweight 'giant' (up to 120,2kg), Francis Ngannou, and has already started promoting the match, which was not even analyzed by the Ultimate board.

"I'm right here. I just woke up after watching his fight against (Derrick) Lewis (2018). You don't scare anyone. I saw your heart. You're a big old mouse. I will expose you.” wrote 'Bones' on his 'Twitter' account.
The 'giant' didn't let it go and responded to the light heavyweight champion in kind. Francis published an image in which Jones appears 'running' from Dominick reyes in his last title defense and stated: 'I also watched some videos'.
The provocations between Francis and Jones began after the French-Cameroonian's victory in his last appearance for Ultimate, when he ran over the promising Jairzinho Rozenstruik in one of the main fights of the UFC 249, held on May 9th. On that occasion, Ngannou knocked out his rival in less than 30 seconds, putting an end to his opponent's unbeaten career.
When analyzing the confrontation, 'Bones' suggested that he could defeat the French-Cameroonian in a possible fight. After Jon's announcement, Francis was quick to accept the challenge, understanding that the fight could be profitable for both parties.
Last Saturday (16), after the UFC Overeem vs. Harris, the company's president, Dana White, said that 'anything is possible' in this sport, leaving open the possibility of promoting the confrontation. The 'boss', however, stated that it is necessary to assess whether the fighters, in fact, want the commitment.
