The wait is close to coming to an end. Ultimate appears to have found a 'new home' to hold the May 9 show. The chosen state must, in fact, be Florida and the UFC team will take its stricture to the city of Jacksonville. The information was released by journalist Dave Meltzer, in an interview with ‘Wrestling Observer Radio’.

“It looks like it’s going to happen at the Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville. They (UFC management) have already told the fighters that they will fly to Jacksonville. There are already people in town to reserve the building,” said Meltzer.

If Ultimate confirms the information, the card will mark the resumption of the organization's activities, which have not held a card since UFC Brasilia, on March 14th. The UFC's official calendar had to be rearranged due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which forced several sporting entities to interrupt their attractions.

The UFC's foray into Florida began after the local government allowed WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) shows, as long as they take place in spaces with gates closed to the public. With that, Ultimate took advantage of the 'free ride' and decided to take its entourage to the state and, in this way, broadcast its weekly cards again.

If made official by the UFC, the show on May 9th should feature two title fights: the meeting between Tony Ferguson e Justin gaethje for the interim lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.), and the battle of Henry Cejudo against Dominick Cruz for the number one position among roosters (up to 62,1kg.).
