Without an opponent in the middleweight category, a rival in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg.). Right after UFC 148, Rashad evans used his Twitter account to ask to face Anderson.
“I want a fight with the middleweight champion (laughs). Make it happen! Please”, wrote the fighter on the microblog, in a message addressed to Lorenzo Fertitta, CEO and majority shareholder of the UFC.

Rashad, who is a former light heavyweight champion, has a record of 17 wins and two losses. The fighter had a setback when he challenged for the Jon Jones and ended up defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges.
Dana White does not define Anderson's future
During the UFC 148 press conference, the organization's president, Dana White, said that Anderson still doesn't have an opponent lined up for his next title defense.
“It was such a big fight. Let's sit back and see. There are still some fights to come and we will decide the next challenger. I don’t know,” said Dana.
