Megan Anderson knocks out Norma Dumont and challenges Amanda Nunes for the featherweight title

Australian takes no notice of Brazilian and wins fight in the first round of UFC Norfolk

The Brazilian Norm Dumont he didn't have his dream debut in Ultimate. In her first fight, the Minas Gerais native was chosen to face the experienced Megan anderson, in the featherweight category (up to 65,7kg.), and ended up succumbing to the strength of the Australian with a knockout suffered in the first round. After the victory, Anderson challenged the champion Amanda nunes by the division belt.

Dumont, who had not performed since August 2018, was undefeated in four appearances as a professional in MMA. The athlete entered the fight confident and put pressure on the Australian in the clinch in the first few minutes.

Megan, who was coming off the victory over Zarah Fairn dos Santos, in UFC 243, held in October last year, had her second consecutive triumph and hopes to become the next challenger for the belt that belongs to the 'Lione'.

The fight

The fight continued to be fought on the cage with Megan trying to free herself. The Minas Gerais native managed to take down her opponent, but Anderson managed to get up easily. Megan managed to free herself and landed a direct hit on the Brazilian's face, who collapsed. The referee intervened and ended the fight, declaring the Australian's victory.

The third fight on the main card was marked by a bizarre knockout. In the fight that started very aggressively between Magomed Ankalayev e Ion cutelaba, the referee of the fight, Kevin MacDonald, interrupted the duel after realizing that Cutelaba was stunned, but the athlete continued to defend himself and respond to his rival's attacks.

After the interruption, Ion showed indignation and complained a lot to the referee, while the audience in the arena booed the decision.
