Coming from defeat to aljamain sterling, Peter Munhoz is more than willing to get back on the winning path. Seventh in the bantamweight rankings (up to 61,2kg), the athlete envisions a return to the octagon soon and suggested a confrontation against Urijah faber ou Frankie Edgar. The challenge was made in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

Without fighting since June, Pedro stated that he was close to replacing Edgar himself in the confrontation against Cory Sandhagem. The former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg.), who was scheduled to fight for his bantamweight debut in January this year, chose to postpone his debut and replace Brian ortega in the main fight of UFC Busan against 'Korean zombie', in December.
“A week before Christmas, I was offered (Cory) Sandhagen, to fight on February 8th (UFC 247), When Frankie Edgar was not allowed to return to the octagon in time (Edgar was defeated by knockout to the 'Korean zombie'). I accepted the challenge and started training, but, eight days later, I was informed that it wouldn't happen”, he concluded.
At 33 years old, Munhoz currently occupies seventh place in the bantamweight rankings. Born in São Paulo, the athlete has 23 appearances as a professional in MMA. There are 18 wins, four defeats and one match without results.
Veterans in the sport, Faber and Edgar are not in the official ranking of the category. A Pedro clash, therefore, could represent a good opportunity for athletes to reach the elite of the division.
