Anderson arrived extremely confident for the confrontation against Jan. Among the North American's plans was the chance to challenge Jon Jones – who was watching the show from the front row – for the category belt. The fight, however, did not go as planned. Corey ended up being knocked out by his opponent in the first round and now he needs to get back on track to get back on the organization's radar.

Shortly after the confrontation, 'Bones' himself spoke about his compatriot's performance. For the champion, Anderson ended up losing focus, as he envisioned a fight for the belt even before he faced off against Jan, who proved to be a very competitive athlete in his last appearances.
