Doctor about injuries to Marreta's two knees: 'I don't have a scientific explanation'

Thiago Marreta came close to doing something no man had ever achieved: defeating Jon Jones in MMA. The Brazilian, who was defeated in a tight split decision by the judges (48-47 47-48 48-47), on the 6th, in the main fight of UFC 239, still achieved the feat with both knees injured.

Thiago said, in an interview with the Resenha PVT program, that the doctor was surprised by the Brazilian's performance.

“He (doctor) said: 'It's not normal, no. That was his mind, I don't have a scientific explanation for that'”, said the Brazilian.

Surgery scheduled

With the injury, Marreta will need surgery on both knees, this Wednesday (17), and the most optimistic expectation of a return would be in 10 months, that is, Marreta would only compete again in 2020.
