Little by little, the Pojucana has been paving her way to becoming the greatest athlete in history among female fighters. Two other Brazilians were remembered at the ceremony. Jhenny Andrade was elected 'Ring Girl' of the year for the third consecutive time, an award she had already won in 2016 and 2017.

Wanderlei hisses, one of the best-known names in MMA history, was also honored at the event. The organization decided to reward the Curitiba native for all his achievements within the sport. The athlete, at the beginning of the 2000s, was already considered one of the most feared athletes in the sport, when he was the big name of the extinct Pride, in Japan. The Brazilian, throughout his career, faced big names in mixed martial arts , including: Chuck Liddel, Dan Henderson, Rich Franklin, Chael Sonnen, Mark Hunt, Ricardo arona e Vitor belfort. However, his most remembered duels are his encounters with Quinton jackson, which gave the audience moments of pure aggression and entertainment.

At 42 years old, Wand has not yet confirmed his retirement from the sport. The fighter made his last commitment in September last year, when he had his fourth fight against 'Rampage', by Bellator. At the time, Silva, far from his best physical shape, was knocked out by his rival in the second round.
