The most anticipated rematch of the year should not take place in Brazil. The long-awaited fight between Anderson Silva e Chael Sonnen, which was previously scheduled for UFC 147, on June 23, in Rio de Janeiro, it appears that it will be held in Las Vegas. The information was initially released by journalist Guga Noblat, from the newspaper “O Globo”. According to the note, the lack of hotels in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, due to the Rio+20 Convention, and the pressure from American casinos to host the fight were major factors for the duel to take place in the United States.

If the confrontation between Anderson and Sonnen is actually held in Las Vegas, the duel should be the main attraction of UFC 148, scheduled to take place on July 7th. So far, the UFC 148 fight program has another title fight. The bantamweight Dominick Cruz will defend his reign in division before Urijah faber.
