Bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.) aljamain sterling He already dreams of fighting for the category belt. After defeating the Brazilian Peter Munhoz last Saturday (8), at UFC 238, the athlete reaffirmed his desire to face Henry Cejudo for the title and reported having the weapons to emerge victorious. The information was given in a recent interview with the program 'The MMA Hour'. Currently, the fighter is third in the bantamweight rankings.

“I think I have all the talent in the world to face Henry. He's a tough guy. I think he's the best pound-for-pound currently. Nobody did what he was capable of doing. So what will they say if I beat him? What does that make me? Makes me the pound-for-pound king. So, that’s what I want,” said Aljamain.
UFC president Dana White had already signaled last week that the new bantamweight champion would be challenged by the winner of the clash between Sterling and Peter Munhoz. After defeating the Brazilian, the North American then won the right to share the octagon with Henry Cejudo, who defeated Marlon moraes by knockout last weekend, winning the division title.
In his first interview as the new champion, however, Cejudo revealed other plans for his future. Still in the octagon, the athlete challenged the former champions Dominick Cruz e cody garbrandt for a fight. The decision, however, is not 100% up to the Olympic champion. In another interview, Henry confessed his desire to face Frankie Edgar, for the featherweight title, if the North American defeats Max Holloway in the main fight of UFC 240 in July.
“He wants to be a killer of legends”, joked Aljamain. “I know what he wants to do. He wants to face guys who haven't won since who knows when,” said the American.
Sterling, however, seems to be focused on the idea of facing Cejudo at any cost. When asked what would be different about Heny's former opponents, the American didn't hesitate.
“I can box, I can kick, I know wrestling, Jiu-jitsu. Where does he beat me? I like my chances. I have a very different style. Even when I teach MMA classes, it's difficult to teach my style to my students.”, said the athlete.
After defeating Munhoz, Sterling added his four straight wins in the organization. The athletes must stay away for a while until they sign the contract for their new commitments. At 29 years old, the fighter has 17 duels on his record, with 14 victories and three setbacks.
