Donald Cerrone finished Mike Perry with an armbar 4:46 into the UFC Denver co-main event. Since 2016, 'Cowboy' has 10 fights and six victories in the welterweight division. During the press conference after the event, the veteran admitted that he intends to return to the lightweight category (up to 70kg).

“I want to go to lightweight, I'm excited, very excited. Just be focused, work hard and make it happen. I can reach that weight, yes. Look, now I'm weighing 82,5kg before the fight, but I'll reach 70kg at the weigh-in. I’ll be fine and I have time for that,” said Cerrone.

For 10 years 'Cowboy' remained in the lightweight division. Cerrone is a former title challenger in the now-defunct WEC and UFC. In Ultimate he competed for the title against Rafael dos Anjos in December 2015 at UFC Orlando. The North American was knocked out in the first round by the Brazilian.

Donald also stated that the organization has already chosen its next opponent, but did not give any clues as to who it would be.

“Does it have a name? Who will it be? Does not matter. But there is already someone, they told me, but I'm not going to tell you”, concluded 'Cowboy'.
