“As they say, it is very difficult for a good professional to retire. I just received a call from Bellator inviting me to participate on September 29th in the “main event” against Quinton jackson, in California. It's our fourth fight, in the first three (fights) I won two and lost one, so it's 2-1 for me” said Wanderlei.

The Brazilian has not fought since July last year, when he lost to Chael Sonnen at Bellator 180. The fight was expected for three years, as both fighters were coaches on the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 3, but did not fight in the final event.

With a record of 49 fights, with 35 wins, 13 losses and one draw, Wanderlei faced Rampage for the first time in 2003, at Pride, when he won by knockout. In 2004, he knocked him out again at the same Japanese event. The third meeting was in the UFC, in 2008, which ended with a victory for Rampage by knockout.

“Do you know when you stop training for a period and come back? I'm feeling the pain, and also the good side of seeing the technique returning, the speed, the explosion. I'm getting help from my coach André Dida here in Curitiba. I'm here resuming training, putting my gloves back on so that, God willing, I can bring another victory”, concluded Cachorro Louco.

'Rampage' does not come at a good time, as he lost his last two fights against Muhammed 'King mo' Lawal and de Sonnen.
