Cormier will not require surgery and should be released within two months

The injury suffered during training took Daniel Cormier of the main fight of UFC 197 against Jon Jones, but it shouldn't keep the light heavyweight champion away from the Octagon for long. Without needing to undergo surgery, Cormier should be ready to return in two months or less.

The information was released by the North American website “MMA Fighting”. According to the publication, the recovery time for Cormier, who injured the interosseous membrane of his shin, is estimated to be between four and eight weeks. In this way, the athlete American kickboxing Academy would be free to defend his belt again from August or September.
