The weigh-in for a boxing fight in Dublin, Ireland, this Friday (5), had true horror scenes. Three uniformed and armed men invaded the attraction site and fired shots, which caused the death of one person.

One of the fighters at the event is local athlete Jamie Kavanagh, a childhood friend of the UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor. Kavanagh had just left the scale when the men, who, according to witnesses, were wearing police uniforms, entered the scene firing shots.

According to information from local police, one man died and two others were seriously injured. None of their identities were revealed, but it is known that they are between 20 and 30 years old.

Kavanagh took to social media to ensure he emerged unharmed from the incident. “For anyone asking, I'm fine! Thanks for asking. All I can say is that I was lucky today”, wrote the fighter on his Twitter account.

The exact cause of the shooting is still unknown. What is suspected is a fight between gangs, as Kavanagh's businessman, Daniel Kinahan, was allegedly a member of a group responsible for the death of a man in Spain.
