Fans who secured tickets to UFC Porto Alegre just gained two more good reasons to attend the official weigh-in, next Saturday (21). The Ultimate organization confirmed the presence of the interim heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum and the former light heavyweight champion Rashad evans in a Q&A session with fans.

Gaucho, Werdum had already been announced as the official ambassador of the event in Porto Alegre. At 37 years old, “Vai Cavalo”, as he is known, has a professional record of 19 wins, five losses and one draw. The Brazilian himself recently confirmed that he will face the linear champion Cain Velazquez in the heavyweight title unification on June 13, at UFC 188, in Mexico.
Yes, Rashad evans, 35 years old, would be one of the protagonists of the main fight of the card in the South. However, Evans left the event due to an injury to his opponent, Glover Teixeira. Outside of the schedule, the American underwent knee surgery, which should keep him away from the Octagon until the second half of the year. TUF 2 champion and former light heavyweight belt holder, Rashad has not fought since November 2013, when he lost Chael Sonnen at the event that marked 20 years of Ultimate.
UFC Fight Night 61, UFC Porto Alegre, takes place next Sunday (23), at Ginásio do Gigantinho, in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. In the main fight of the night, Brazilian heavyweight Antonio Pezão face the former category champion Frank mir.
