Ladies and gentlemen, Diego lopes it's real. Highlight of the preliminary card of the UFC 300, held on Saturday night (13), the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) did not take notice of the Nigerian Sodiq Yusuf and quickly knocked out his rival, in the first round. The historic event took place at the traditional T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).

A specialist in jiu-jitsu, Diego showed that he is truly an elite athlete. The Brazilian didn't worry about his rival's striking, he was aggressive from the first second of the fight and, after landing a beautiful combination, he knocked out the Nigerian just over a minute into the fight, driving the audience in the arena crazy.
Hired by Ultimate in May 2023, Diego debuted with a loss to Russian Moslar Evloev, but earned praise from Dana White for accepting the fight at the last minute and delivering a tough fight for the ranked prospect. Shortly afterwards, the featherweight started a streak of three consecutive victories, over Gavin tucker, pat sabatini and now Sodiq Yusuf, all via the fast lane. In the next ranking update, the Brazilian athlete should appear for the first time among the 15 best in the group led by the Spaniard Ilia Topuria.
