Famous for his pragmatic style, Covington reveals 'surprises' for Edwards in his third UFC title fight

Famous for excellent wrestling and pragmatic style, Colby covington promised a 'new version' in his third attempt to win the UFC belt. In conversation with the press at 'half day', the North American assured that he will present surprises to the champion Leon edwards. The confrontation takes place this Saturday (16), at UFC 296.

“I can beat him (Edwards) in any area. I know they're treating it like a match between a striker and a grappler. You can watch all the videos of my fights, but I'm not the same fighter I was the last time you saw me competing. On Saturday, you will see a completely different version. I will bring the warrior and Edwards will be the athlete who will give up”, said Covington.

This weekend, Covington will have his third opportunity to wear a linear belt in the organization. Former interim champion of the group, the athlete was frustrated by the then Kamaru Usman on the first attempts.

In his last challenge, the North American overcame Jorge masvidal with dominant performance. The clash took place more than a year ago.

Holder of the title since 2022, Leon is heading towards his second fight of the current season. If he passes Colby, the Englishman will be successful in his second defense of the throne.
