Garbrandt sees Deiveson as absolute at flyweight, but says: 'He crushes everyone except me'

“I think he (Deiveson) crushes everyone in this division except me. These guys stop in front of him and that's when he unleashes his blows. I move a lot, I'm very fast, I get in and out all the time. These fighters don't know how to counterattack, giving pressure is all they know. My strategy will be the same as the fight against Dominick Cruz (in 2016)”, said the North American, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Publicly chosen by Deiveson for his first title defense, Garbrandt has not yet had the opportunity to test himself as much as the Brazilian in the flyweight division. The athlete, then, plans to return to the octagon for the beginning of next year and hopes that the man from Pará remains champion, as, on December 12, he will return to the fighting field for another title defense, this time, against Brandon Moreno.

“I think he’s going to run over that kid (Brandon). It's another lamb being taken to the slaughterhouse. Okay, let him create this hype, let him think “damn, this kid is the man”. I’m not going to back down, I’m excited for this fight,” he concluded.

Cody hasn't performed since June, when he fought in UFC 250. On that occasion, the former champion ran over Raphael Assunção and put an end to a negative streak of three defeats with the Ultimate gloves.
