Bellator champion announces career break to act with 'The Rock' in film about UFC legend

Starring 'The Rock', the film 'Smashing Machine', which will tell the story of UFC legend Mark Kerr, has received a major addition to its cast: Ryan bader. Bellator heavyweight champion and with a long stint in Ultimate, the North American announced, via social media, a brief interruption in his career to participate in the project.

“Taking a break from MMA while I head to Vancouver for about three months. I'm excited to be part of Benny Safdie's amazing project, 'The Smashing Machine'. Paying homage to some legends of the sport like Mark Kerr, Mark Coleman, the ups and downs that accompany this crazy sport”, declared the fighter.

It is not yet known exactly what role he will play. Ryan bader in 'Smashing Machine'. The film will be produced by the 'A24' studio and will portray the career of Mark Kerr, two-time UFC heavyweight tournament champion in 1997. In addition to his victories in the octagon, the project should also address the former fighter's personal problems.
