For MMA fans, one of the biggest concerns at the moment is whether or not the UFC 249 amid the chaos experienced in recent days due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). With several companies postponing events, with the intention of complying with preventative measures against the disease, Ultimate is trying to maintain one of its main cards for 2020, which is scheduled to take place on April 18th. The company's president, Dana White, remains confident that the show will happen, but adopts a strict stance against members of the media who question him about details of the card's holding. In an interview with 'Yahoo Sports', the 'boss' refused to answer a question about whether the athletes were tested for the disease.

“The less the media knows, the better. Let's put it this way: a lot of hysteria has happened because of the media”, said the president.

Dana continued with an aggressive speech considering that companies are acting in a way that, according to the president, increases panic among the population. The agent limited himself to talking about the treatment of his employees in general, but did not specify in relation to COVID-19.

“You have known me for a long time. When my fighters and my team are with me, they have the best medical care they could get, whether they are alone, in their homes or if they work for someone else. You don't need to know. It’s none of your business,” White said.

Even with many deaths happening around the world, Dana maintains that the UFC 249 will happen. The main fight on the card will mark the long-awaited meeting between Khabib Nurmagomedov e Tony Ferguson in the fight for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.). The card, which was banned from being held in New York, is expected to leave the United States and, according to White, already has a new location. The president, however, did not reveal where the confrontation will take place.
