It hasn't been this time yet Ronaldo Jacare got his dream shot at the Ultimate belt. In the main fight of UFC Fort Lauderdale, held this Saturday (27), in Florida (USA), the Brazilian was surprised by the Swedish Jack Hermansson and lost in a unanimous decision by the judges (48-47, 49-46, 48-47).

From the moment of the weigh-in, the Brazilian was very focused for the clash against Hermansson. Visibly upset with UFC management for never receiving a chance to fight for the middleweight title, the Brazilian once again fulfilled his role and put his record on the line to face the Swede. But, just as happened in the fights against Yoel romero, Kelvin Gastelum e Robert whittaker, he hit the post.

The fight

The fight started with Hermansson landing some low kicks on the Brazilian, who called his opponent into the fight. Jacaré remained calm and waited for the right moment to put his strategy into play. At all times, Ronaldo waited for Jack's actions and played on the counterattack. At one point, Jacaré had a scare after the Swede almost got a guillotine choke. Jacaré, however, remained calm and managed to get out of position and take the fight back to the top. Due to the scare, the Brazilian lost the first round.

In the second round, Jack continued to show danger for the Brazilian, landing punches and kicks on Jacaré's body. The Brazilian tried to find the distance, but found it difficult to reach his opponent efficiently. In the fourth minute, Hermansson managed to dodge a blow from Ronaldo and took the fight to the ground. The Swede, on top, managed to hit Jacaré with good blows to the face. Famous for his Jiu-jitsu, the Brazilian was unable to impose his qualities on the ground against his opponent, who continued to strike the athlete from Espírito Santo.

The third round started again with the Swede looking to take the Brazilian to the ground. Jacaré defended the takedown well and returned to fighting on his feet. The Brazilian began to loosen up in the fight, managing to connect some good jabs against Jack's face. Hermansson's counterattack, however, proved to be quite efficient. At the end of the round, Ronaldo managed to land two good blows on the Swede's face, who attacked the blow. In the end, the Brazilian again efficiently struck his opponent, who shook, but the round ended.

In the fourth stage, Hermansson again tried to take the Brazilian to the ground, once again without efficiency. Jacaré was looking to tie the fight, as he had lost the first two rounds. The two entered into a frank exchange. Jacaré accused a blow from his opponent, but continued to respond to Jack's attacks. The Brazilian began to appear tired in the duel and attacked less frequently. The Swede's blows continued to hit the Brazilian's face, who showed difficulty in finding the distance. Even with his face hurt, Jacaré insisted on keeping the fight going. At the end of the assault, both athletes were breathing heavily.

With a worried face, Jacaré, right at the beginning of the last round, suffered a fall, but managed to get up and, shortly afterwards, returned the fall to his opponent, who also managed to get back up. At the end of the fight, Jacaré managed to land good blows on his opponent, which he felt, but managed to put the Brazilian down until time ran out.
