Removed from the UFC for being caught in a doping test at UFC 143 in February, the American Nick Diaz will try jiu-jitsu. And the former Strikeforce champion's opponent will be a well-known Brazilian. Diaz faces Pernambuco's Bráulio Estima at the World Jiu Jitsu Expo, an event scheduled to take place on May 12, in Long Beach, United States.
Bráulio is one of the main names in world jiu-jitsu. The 31-year-old fighter is a three-time world champion in the gentle art and two-times champion of the ADCC, the main submission tournament – no-gi jiu-jitsu – in the world. In turn, Nick, despite dedicating himself primarily to MMA, is a black belt in the Brazilian César Gracie's sport. Furthermore, the North American, who is suspended from MMA for using marijuana in his fight against Carlos Condit, is proud of never having been submitted in jiu-jitsu competitions.
