The 'Phoenix Rising', a tournament launched by Invicta FC, will reveal the organization's new strawweight champion (up to 52kg) on May 3, in Kansas City (USA). The announcement was released by the website 'Sherdog' this Tuesday (16). The company's strawweight title has been vacant since the former champion, the Brazilian Virna jandiroba, signed a contract with the UFC.

The event follows an idea of the tournament models that took place a few years ago. The fighters will have more than one match on the day and the best will compete in the grand final for the organization's belt.
In total, eight fights will be promoted. In the quarterfinals and semifinals, there will only be one five-minute round. If one of the fighters finishes her duel in a short time, as a bonus, she will have the right to choose her next opponent.
The final of the tournament, however, will be held in three rounds. Among the fighters in the championship are Brazilian Juliana Lima, ex-UFC, and Janissa Morandin.
Invicta FC has already had, in its group of fighters, UFC champions such as Chris Cyborg e Carla esparza.
