Since winning the UFC heavyweight (up to 120kg) title, Cormier revealed his desire to fight against the organization's former champion, Brock Lesnar. The two even came face to face after the fight between 'DC' and Stipe Miocic, in July 2018.

Since then, rumors of a fight between the two have been increasingly buzzing behind the scenes of MMA.

Last Sunday (7), an important event signaled that confirmation of the fight could indeed be close. Lesnar 'lost' his WWE 'Universal Champion' belt, which can be understood as a possible arrangement for the fighter to return to the UFC, as Lesnar cannot work for both companies.

Although Brock hasn't fought for the organization since 2016, Cormier is motivated to face the giant.

“It’s the fight I want. Everyone wants to face Brock. This is the fight that needs to happen. He is a former UFC champion. He is very deserving of this fight. I hope he can do it”, concluded Daniel.

'DC', 40 years old, hasn't fought since November last year, when he submitted the American Derrick Lewis in the main fight of UFC 230. Since then, he has been waiting for confirmation of his fight against Brock.

In his record, Cormier has 24 fights and only one defeat, and one fight without result (Dainel was defeated by Jon Jones at UFC 214, but the fight's result was changed after Jones failed a drug test).
