Tito Ortiz announces new return to MMA

North American says he could fight again in October and already has an opponent in mind

the veteran Tito Ortiz announced that he should fight again this year. The information was disclosed by Ortiz himself in an interview with 'TMZ Sports', published last Sunday (7). The opponent, however, was not revealed, but the fight is expected to take place in October, according to the fighter.

“I will probably fight in October,” said the athlete. After I fought Chuck last year, I thought it would be my last (fight), but my body is in shape. Everything is fast. Everything is great. The sparing sessions have been good and training has been incredible. Let's do one more. Just for fun”, said Tito, who did not reveal who he wanted to fight at the end of the year. “I have an opponent. It will be fun when I announce it”, concluded Ortiz.

This is the third time that Tito has announced his return to the world of fighting. The American retired for the first time in 2012, when he was defeated by Forrest griffin, at UFC 148. In 2014, two years later, however, the former UFC light heavyweight (up to 93kg) champion announced his return, but this time, fighting for Bellator.

In the new organization, the 'Bad Boy' had five fights, having been defeated on only one occasion, when he faced Englishman Liam McGeary, in the fight for the company's light heavyweight belt, at Bellator 142, in 2015.

Tito's last fight took place in November last year, against former UFC champion Chuck Liddell, knocking out the legend in the first round. At the time, Chuck returned to MMA at the age of 49, after having spent eight years without fighting professionally. In the post-fight interview, Ortiz once again announced his retirement.

Tito Ortiz He is currently 44 years old, and has a record of 33 fights, 20 wins, 12 losses and one draw. In 2012, he was honored by the UFC by being included in the company's Hall of Fame.
