Ronaldo Jacaré confirms that Yoel Romero is out of UFC Fort Lauderdale

The Cuban, Yoel romero, former challenger for the UFC middleweight belt, seems to be really out of the game UFC Fort Lauderdale, which takes place on April 27th. The announcement was made by the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare last Thursday morning, on his Twitter account. The information, however, was not made official by the company.

“Romero is out of the fight and the guy they brought to fight me is running, as always happens”, published the athlete.

News is going around behind the scenes in the fight world that Romero has pneumonia, which would make it impossible for him to remain on the event's official card and perform in the main fight, which is scheduled to take place on April 27th. Some alternatives were considered to replace the Cuban. The Brazilian, Paulo borrachinha, was the first name to appear among the possible challengers to Jacaré. Borrachinha, however, claimed that it would be difficult to carry out the match, as he would have to undergo a weight cut of approximately 18kg.

The fight against Romero is highly anticipated by Ronaldo, as the Cuban was the first athlete to defeat the Brazilian since he debuted in the UFC in 2013. Yoel beat Jacaré in a fight with a controversial result, in a split decision between the judges. The clash took place in 2015, at UFC 194.

According to 'ESPN', the name of Jack hermansson was offered to replace Romero in the main fight of the night. Jacaré, however, negotiates financial compensation to be kept on the card.

In his last five fights, Ronaldo, 39, has won three victories, the last of which was a knockout against Chris Weidman, in November last year, at UFC 230.
