Good Friday was not a good date for Brazilian fighters in Bellator. In the 64th edition of the event, held in Windsor, Canada, of the Tupiniquin athletes in action, only Marlon Sandro left the event with victory, and even then after facing his compatriot Alexandre “Popó”.

In the night's main attraction, Ben Askren controlled Douglas lima for 25 minutes to defend the organization's welterweight title. Right at the beginning of the fight, the North American didn't want to give the Brazilian a chance and immediately looked for the takedown, from where he controlled the fight, working on top with several punches and leaving no room for Douglas to get up.

The strategy was followed in the following rounds, and with good physical preparation, Ben maintained the pace until the bell in the fifth round. At the end of the dispute, the three side judges scored 50x45 for the North American, who maintained his unbeaten record in MMA, now with 10 victories, and defended the Bellator welterweight title.

Mouse loses invincibility
Already in the first round of the bantamweight GP, Rodrigo Ratinho's international debut did not go the way the Brazilian expected. Facing the Japanese Hiroshi Nakamura, Ratinho attempted the submission several times, but ended up stopping in the experience of the Japanese athlete, who defended his attacks well. Rodrigo also had a point deducted in the second round, due to a knee to Nakamura's genital region, which was crucial to the Japanese's victory in the judges' decision.

Marlon beats Popó in a 100% Brazilian duel
The only Brazilian athlete to win on the night, Marlon Sandro faced his compatriot Alexandre Popó. The duel, which was highly anticipated by fans, was disappointing and was quite tepid during the three rounds. Marlon started the fight better, combining punches and low kicks.
