The Brazilian Marina Rodriguez achieved his first victory in Ultimate. The fighter from Rio Grande do Sul gave a standing fighting lesson for 15 minutes, dominated the Mexican Jessica Aguilar and won the fight with a unanimous decision from the judges (29-26, 29-27, 29-27). The fight closed the preliminary card of the UFC Philadelphia, event held this Saturday (30), in the USA.

With the result, Marina remains undefeated in MMA and reaches her 11th victory as a professional. She also has a draw, precisely in her Ultimate debut. In turn, Aguilar suffered his eighth defeat as a professional, the second in a row in the UFC.

In the first few seconds, Marina hit Jéssica with an unintentional finger in the eye. The referee stopped the fight and warned the Brazilian. When the fight resumed, Aguilar walked forward, firing crosses and putting pressure on the Gaucho woman in the clinch. But Rodriguez quickly reversed position and with short-range strikes, he broke his rival's nose.

As she took control of the fight, Marina lost her balance and fell to the ground. The Mexican took advantage and almost ended the dispute. She attacked with an armbar and was in danger. The Brazilian managed to turn her body and defend the joint. Upon returning to standing combat, the Brazilian once again hit Aguilar with her finger in the eye and had a point deducted. When the fight resumed, in the final seconds of the match, Marina opened her arsenal of blows and made her opponent bend her knee.

From the second round onwards, Marina took control of the fight and gave a stand-up fighting lesson. She combined stomps, elbows and hard straight strikes to punish Aguilar. The Mexican, on more than one occasion, had to run into the octagon to escape punishment.

In the third round, with Jessica Aguilar badly injured, Marina continued her striking class. The Brazilian controlled the distance with stomps and attacked with great combinations of elbows and straight blows against a Mexican who was fighting just to avoid being knocked out.
