Anne Ribeiro, daughter of the heavyweight Antonio Pezão, made his amateur MMA debut this weekend. Performing at Xtreme Fighting Nation 23, in Ft. Lauderdale (USA), the Brazilian had a good fight against Hannah Jackson, but lost in a contested decision by the judges (29-28, 30-27, 29-28).

Anne, just 19 years old, dominated her rival in the clinch game in the first two rounds and fought an even fight during the exchange of blows in the third round. However, at the time of the official announcement, the North American was declared the winner.
Pezão, a veteran of events such as UFC and Strikeforce, was unhappy with the result and took to his Instagram account to complain about the side judges' appointment.
“Shit decision by XFN. Losing or winning is part of life, but when we are clearly robbed (sic) it is outrageous, not because it is my daughter but clearly she won the 1st round and the 2nd round. But now we have to train more and more so as not to let it fall into the hands of these incompetent table referees”, wrote the heavyweight.
In turn, Anne preferred not to argue and told, also on Instagram, how emotional her professional debut was.
“It was fun, I was able to come in and exchange blows. I didn't get the result I wanted, but that just shows that I can't leave it in the hands of the judges. It’s okay,” she reported.
