Till plans to ask for a title fight if he wins at UFC London

Darren till will have ahead Jorge masvidal in the main fight of UFC London, this Saturday (16). Despite coming from a defeat, the Englishman is confident of triumph in front of his fans. In a press conference on Thursday (14), the fighter assured that he will ask for a fight for the welterweight belt in case of victory in England.

Third placed in the welterweight rankings, Till competed for the category title against Tyron woodley in September 2018 at UFC 228. The Englishman was submitted in the second round by the North American who kept the belt. Despite the setback, Darren believes he deserves a second chance to win the division belt.

“Yes, because let’s say Colby doesn’t fight Usman – which is what I think should happen. Who would be next (challenger)? If Colby fights Woodley, who's next. I'm number 3 in the world. So if everything goes well on Saturday and I beat Jorge, maybe I get the title shot, I'll campaign for that. People have to remember that I didn't ask for a chance against Woodley, it was given to me. This time, if I ask in the right way, maybe I will be answered. I'm looking forward, I'm number 3, don't forget. Usman, great performance, he used to challenge me, now I'm the one going to challenge the champion, the target is on his back now”, declared Till, according to the North American website MMA Fighting.

The defeat to Woodley made Till rethink his attitudes in Ultimate. During the promotion of the event in London, Darren changed his stance and treated Masvidal with great respect. The Englishman praised his rival and admitted that he used to watch his fights in the past.

“Yes, I watched it when I was young. Jorge was already active at that time. Like I said, I was a huge fan, and probably still am, if I'm being honest. This will not be a street fight, it will be a respectful fight. It will be violent, but after it's over he can go enjoy it with his family and I'll do the same, we'll shake hands and it'll be over”, concluded Darren.
