Indian loses in disputed decision and is out of the Bellator welterweight GP

Carlos Índio loses and is eliminated from the GP

Brazil does not have a representative in the semifinals of the Bellator welterweight GP. The country's only representative in the tournament, Carlos Índio, was defeated by Bryan Baker in a split decision by the judges, a result that did not please the public and the Brazilian's team. The confrontation was one of the attractions of Bellator 63, an event that took place on Friday night (30), in Uncasville, in the United States.

Índio started the duel better, working with low kicks and risking some combinations. In the only moment he was taken down, the Nova União athlete applied a beautiful sweep and fell to the mount, landing several punches.

With the victory, Bryan Baker advances to the semifinals and faces Karl Amoussou, who submitted Chris Lozano with a rear naked choke in the first round. On the other side of the bracket, David Rickels, who knocked out Jordan Smith, faces ex-UFC Ben Saunders, who beat Raul Amaya by unanimous decision.
